Wafer Pencil Cookies
This may sound trivial, but it drives me crazy and I am sharing a recipe for Back to School Pencil Wafers so I just have to put it out there as a public service announcement – putting a comma after quotation marks makes me bonkers. And it happens more than you realize!
The books, stories, and magazines we read together as a family are all proofed by publishers before printing. How and why do those commas in the wrong place escape them?! The comma always, no exception, goes before the quotation marks. Under no circumstances does it ever go after them, ever. It’s a pretty clear cut editing rule!
Sheesh.
You won’t catch commas in the wrong place around here! You’ll catch a million other typos, though. I am terrible at proofing, probably because I put too much attention on those silly commas!
