Best Cinnamon Roll Poke Cake
Our church has two potluck’s every month. We look forward to the fellowship on those days! One of those two potluck’s always has a theme. I made this Cinnamon Roll Poke Cake for the breakfast themed potluck!
Poke cakes have always been a tried and true go-to dessert for me. They check all the boxes – easy to make, travel nicely, endless variations, fail proof, can make them ahead of time, and most importantly they taste amazing!

What You’ll Need for the Cake:
- 1 box Vanilla Cake Mix + Ingredients on the Box
- 4 tbsp Butter, Melted
- 1 (14 oz) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 tsp Cinnamon
And the Frosting:
- 1 (8 oz) block Cream Cheese, Softened
- 2/3 cup Butter, Softened
- 4 cups Powdered Sugar
- 2 tsp Vanilla
- 2 tbsp Milk
How to Make Cinnamon Roll Poke Cake
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13 pan with non-stick spray.
- Prepare and bake 1 box vanilla cake mix according to directions on the box.
- Let semi-cool. Then poke holes into the cake using the end of a wooden spoon, leaving about a 1-inch space between holes.
- In a 2 cup size Pyrex measuring cup, melt 4 tbsp butter in the microwave. Remove from the microwave, and mix in 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 2 tsp cinnamon.
- Pour mixture into the holes evenly.
- In a medium bowl, beat together 1 (8 oz) block softened cream cheese and 2/3 cup softened butter. Slowly beat in 4 cups powdered sugar. Mix in 2 tsp vanilla and 2 tbsp milk.
- Spread frosting evenly over the cake.
