Crock Pot Halloween Candy
I recently made a batch of my Crock Pot Christmas Crack as a thank you gift to people who helped me with a camping trip, except I made it as Crock Pot Halloween Crack instead since we are quickly approaching spooky season!
As I was making it something didn’t seem right, I felt like something was missing but proceeded anyway. When the candy hardened I took a bite and it was all wrong. It turns out I made two major typos in the recipe – I had the wrong measurement for the toffee bits and I hadn’t even put peanut butter as an ingredient!
I am the creator of this recipe. There are many variations of it, but none the same as this one. I perfected it last Christmas and was now in a panic because I didn’t write it down anywhere. I didn’t think I had to because it was on the blog!
I made a second batch as fast as I could because I knew it would take some time to figure out how many toffee bits and how much peanut butter I needed. The second time was a fail. I put too many toffee bits in, therefore I couldn’t even tell if the amount of peanut butter I used was right.
My husband tried encouraging me with ‘third time is a charm,’ but by my third attempt I was really discouraged and I wasn’t real confident in my third batch, either! I am well aware that I make typos, but this was the worst of them yet!
Thankfully I nailed it on the third time and I am again confident you will love this super easy crowd pleasing recipe! If you like easy, then I think you’ll love Oreo Witch Hat Cookies, Mummy Rice Krispie Treats, and Halloween Ghost Donuts, too!
