A super easy and fun way to say Happy Birthday! These party treats will make kids of all ages smile!
We have a LEGO kid. And by that, I mean our son LOVES LEGO’s!! If you walk into our house at any time, you’ll see that half of our kitchen table is consumed with LEGO’s. He goes back and forth between the table and the living room floor, playing with his creative creations. There have been nights that my husband and I will scan across the LEGO’s he’s left on the table and chuckle at the mind-blowing ideas he comes up with!
He’s always had a handful, or pocketful, of toys and trinkets. His trails are always so cute, I just have to take a picture so I can look back and remember those moments! I’ve taken pictures of tiny wet footprints on the bathroom mat, sand-filled shoes left at the deck door, and a pile of little balls and LEGO guys. I have collected so many of those moments because time is quickly slipping away from me and some day he won’t be little anymore!

How to Make LEGO Rice Krispies Treats

- For large LEGO bricks, leave as is.
- For square LEGO bricks, cut a 1/3 of the Rice Krispies Treat. You’ll have a small piece remaining. You can eat it, or…
- For small LEGO bricks, use the small piece left from cutting the treat into a square!
- Melt one color at a time. You do not have to use the colors I suggest, they are only suggestions. You can use whatever colors, and however many colors you’d like!)
- Pour about 1/2 cup of colored chocolate candy melts into a microwave safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, remove and stir, heat again. Repeat until completely smooth and melted.
- Dunk the top of the treat into the melted chocolate. You will need to smooth over with a knife. Place matching M&M’s on top of the wet chocolate. Let harden.
Time Saving Tips for Making LEGO Rice Krispies Treats
- Just buy the Rice Krispies Treats, it will save you time!
- You don’t have to cut the treats into different sizes. If you are short on time, just leave them the size they are in the package.
- Have your kids put the M&M’s on. They’ll love being a part of the fun!
- I used a variety of colors for visual appeal in my pictures. Keep in mind, coating with each color takes about 15 minutes from the time you cut the treats to melting the chocolate and decorating. To save time, just pick one or two colors!
- Lighter colors are always easier to work with!
LEGO Rice Krispies Treats Ideas
- If you have the time, you can submerge the entire treat in the melted chocolate. This will require more melted chocolate than the recipe calls for, you’ll have to eyeball it as you are starting your project.
- On the large bricks, you can alternate between 6 and 8 M&M’s to make them look like different size LEGO bricks.
- You could use frosting instead of melted chocolate. It’s unlikely that you will find frosting in all of the colors pictured, so you may need to dye white frosting with food coloring to be the color you desire.
- The orange, green, yellow, and red LEGO bricks are all a pretty close color match. If you would like a closer color match for the blue brick, you can dunk the M&M’s in the melted chocolate first. Let the chocolate harden on the M&M and then put on the brick.
