A classic all-time Christmas favorite. These soft and chewy Peanut Butter Blossoms are a beloved holiday cookie!
Classic Peanut Butter Blossoms
I bake a lot. And I mean A LOT! Most of the things I bake are not things that should be kept around the house for us to graze on, so I look for ways to share what I bake.
My son is used to seeing my countertop covered in baked goods. But he is never able to have what he has his eyes on because he has to wait until I take pictures of it. Most of the time I am able to get rid of stuff without him noticing, or caring, for that matter. But now that Christmas baking season is in full swing – he’s had his eyes locked in, especially when I make these Peanut Butter Blossoms!
I recently told him that I would let him set aside a few things to save for later to share with Dad. So I set a plate out and told him to save what he thinks they would like to enjoy later. His mission was complete in just a few minutes, then he went back to playing. As I walked by the kitchen I realized the plate wasn’t where I left it. After further review, he had moved it under bags of cranberries I had sitting on the counter. He had heaped the plate full and tried hiding how much he had kept!
It was hilarious! His intention wasn’t to eat it all – he just rarely gets any of the treats I bake, so he took full advantage of the opportunity because he wasn’t sure there would ever be another chance! If it’s something he makes with me, we save some. Or if it’s something I baked with a purpose, like lunches, he gets to eat it. But if I am just baking for fun or to share with you, I try not to contribute to overindulgence and give away just about everything I bake!
You, too, can load your plate up with Christmas treats! Try making some of my favorites like my Mom’s Soft Christmas Cutout Sugar Cookies, Polar Bear Paws, Rolo Pretzel Turtles, Christmas Crack, and Sugar Cookie Fudge!
