An adorable way to say ‘Happy Thanksgiving’ to the kids and kids at heart at your Thanksgiving table!
Cute Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie Turkey’s
Can you believe I have never tried turkey? Yep, it’s true. I have no interest in trying it, either. I would much rather eat something that looks like a turkey for Thanksgiving, like these Pumpkin Pie Turkey’s!
If you like to entertain the kids at your table with cute food then they would love these Love Bug Oreos, Monster Eye Cookies, Oreo Bunny Butts, and Melted Snowman Bark, too!
What You’ll Need:
- 1 Store Bought Pumpkin Pie (Or make your own!)
- 7 Bite-Size Reese’s
- 14 Candy Eye’s
- 7 Reese’s Pieces
- 35 Candy Corn
- A Few Chocolate Chips
How to Make Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie Turkey’s
- Line baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Cut 7 circles into a 37 oz store bought pumpkin pie using a round cutter that is deeper than the pie. Place pumpkin pie circles onto the parchment paper.
- Unwrap 7 Mini-Reese’s and set aside.
- Layout sets of candy eyes onto the Reese’s. Melt a few chocolate chips onto a paper plate to use as ‘glue.’ Dip each eye into the chocolate ‘glue’ and put back in place.
- Cut 7 orange Reese’s Pieces along the edge for a flat surface. Dunk the flat side into the chocolate ‘glue’ and put centered under the eyes.
- Place the completed turkey face on the lower part of the pumpkin pie circle.
- Fan 5 candy corn above each turkey’s face and place on each of the pie circle’s.
Recipe Notes:
- Candy corn – It’s hard to find after Halloween, drives me crazy! So make sure you grab a bag during the Halloween season. Otherwise you can order them online or find them at Fleet Farm.
- Round cutter – Make sure your round cutter is deep, you want it to be higher than the height of the pumpkin pie. You will have a mess if your round cutter isn’t higher than the pie itself.
- Make ahead – Don’t make these too far ahead of time. The pumpkin pie will start to sweat and the turkey’s won’t look as fresh. It’s best to make them the night before or the same day.
- Pie – I prefer using a store bought pumpkin pie, because the crust holds together better than a flaky crust. And I can find a bigger one than I would make. Check the ingredients – sometimes store bought pies have lard in the crust. If you can’t find one without it, you can make your own Pumpkin Pie!
- Storing – Store at room temperature to prevent additional sweating.
- Gluing the turkey face – It’s not necessary to ‘glue’ on the Reese’s turkey face or the fanned candy corn feathers, but you can if you’d like!
